The calendar

Something is happening here almost every night.

We built a stage because we wanted the room to do more than sell beer. Between the weekly leagues and the bands, there is a reason to be here most nights of the week, and none of it costs much.

King Trivia, every Tuesday at 7

Every Tuesday, 7 pm to 9 pm · Free

King Trivia, every Tuesday at 7

Tuesday nights belong to the people who remember things nobody needed them to remember. King Trivia runs from 7 to 9, it is free to play, and the kitchen is open the whole time.

Bring a team. Or come alone, sit at the bar, and get adopted by one, which happens more often than you would think.

Darts League, every Wednesday at 6

Every Wednesday, 6 pm to 9 pm

Darts League, every Wednesday at 6

Steel tip, real league, real regulars. Wednesdays from 6 to 9.

If you have thrown before you already know whether this is for you. If you have not, come watch a round and then ask somebody about it. This crowd is competitive at the board and generous away from it.

Line Dancing, the first three Thursdays

First three Thursdays, 6:30 pm to 8 pm · $5 cover

Line Dancing, the first three Thursdays

Get the boots out. Line dancing runs the first three Thursdays of every month, 6:30 to 8, and it is $5 at the door for two and a half hours including walkthroughs.

No partner required. No experience required. This is Bakersfield, somebody at that table already knows the steps and will teach you.

Bakersfield Jazz Orchestra

1st & 3rd Mondays, 7 pm to 9 pm · Free

Bakersfield Jazz Orchestra

The city's best horn players, in our room, twice a month, for free. Come early if you want a table near the stage.

Kern River Blues Society, every 4th Saturday

4th Saturdays, 2 pm to 6 pm · Free

Kern River Blues Society, every 4th Saturday

Every fourth Saturday the Kern River Blues Society turns this place into an open jam and it runs all afternoon.

If you play, bring it. If you do not, get a pint and a seat by the stage early, because the good ones go fast.

Want the room to yourself?

The same space that holds a jazz orchestra holds a wedding reception.
